The Role
We currently have a vacancy for a People & Culture Administrator to join our People & Culture team.

We are ideally looking for someone to work 30 hours over 4 or 5 days per week but there is flexibility in working days and start/finish times.


The People & Culture Department is a small, generalist Department who provide effective people services to our 300 employees across the Group; and ultimately ensure that Commercial is a great place to work The People & Culture Administrator position is a varied role, performing a broad range of duties across a variety of areas.

You will deliver, improve and maintain effective administration to support the delivery of service.

You will provide line managers and employees with clear guidance and advice to ensure compliance with both Company policies and relevant legislation, whilst ensuring all records are maintained and accurate.

It's a varied role interacting with new starters, line managers and employees whilst working as part of the wider People and Culture team and having the opportunity to work on value added and business transformational projects.


Your responsibilities as a People & Culture Administrator will be:
Provide administration throughout the employee lifecycle including the following:
People & Culture

  • Create new starter packs and contracts of employment
  • Conduct preemployment screening checks e.g. referencing, proof of right to work in the UK, DBS checks
  • Own the new starter onboarding process i.e. arrange monthly Company inductions, create the new starter news, ensure new starter induction schedules are complete
  • Process changes to employment, resignations, maternity, paternity, adoption and shared parental leave
  • Ensure the maintenance of digitalised employee files and HR system
  • Manage the People and Culture, recruitment and payroll inboxes; being the first point of contact for the People and Culture team
  • Maintain People and Culture spreadsheets such as new starter, leaver, changes checklists, People and Culture Metrics and the vacancy tracker
  • Play a key role in monitoring, evaluating and recommending improvements for employee experience; such as conducting new starter catch ups and employee experience meetings
Recruitment

  • Create engaging job adverts that showcase Commercial as an employer of choice
  • Recruitment administration i.e. filing interview notes
Payroll

  • Collate monthly payroll information (i.e. new starters, leavers, changes, expenses, mileage etc) and input onto the payroll spreadsheet
  • Assist the People and Culture Advisor with the submission of monthly payroll information to our Payroll Bureau, whilst ensuring that all information is accurate and on time
  • Liaise with the Payroll Bureau
  • Ensure the accurate maintenance of payroll records
Ad-hoc

  • Work on departmental initiatives such as Learning Days, Change Champions, Menopause Champions, employee wellbeing etc.
  • Adhoc administrative duties where required e.g. creating reports, organisation charts

About you

  • An experienced Administrator; preferably with a People and Culture, Recruitment or Payroll background
  • Ideally CIPD Level 3 qualified, or with a desire to complete the qualification
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Microsoft proficient with good excel skills
  • Discreet nature
  • Positive and friendly manner
  • Proactive and cando attitude
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Highly organised with excellent time management skills
