    The Business Operations Service, part of Wirral Community and Care NHS Foundation Trust, is seeking a dynamic, flexible and highly motivated individual with a passion for business and service improvement.


    The post is fundamental for leadership and service delivery across our organisation, and recognises the complexity of the services delivered by the Trust.

    The post holder will be responsible for supporting operational delivery and leadership to localities and for supporting strategic leadership, with visibility at service level.

    The Senior Business Support Manager will support Wirral Community Health and Care Services in delivering Business Plans, including work on developing new initiatives whilst supporting optimal delivery of current service performance.


    The post holder will work with the Service Leads to identify and support growth with implementation of pilot projects and new services as well as working on tender submissions, something that is becoming increasingly relevant and highly important.


    Part of the role will also include working alongside the Clinical Management Team, HR, Finance and Business Intelligence, focusing on achievement of efficiencies/CIP within the services, supporting the Annual Business Planning Cycle of the Services and supporting the service lead with optimising and managing service budgets.

    A fundamental part of this post is the ability to work across multiple projects simultaneously to tight deadlines.

    Lead or contribute to creating improvement, transformation and innovations of services.
    Contribute to financial performance and target delivery.
    Provide business support to the Business Manager of the division
    Work closely with the business manager in the production of business, operational and strategic plans
    Contribute to the development of the business operations team within the division
    Partake in negotiations with commissioners in developing service level agreements and contracts within the division
    Manage the development of business cases in terms of key elements such as risk management, governance arrangements, capital applications and business processes
    Undertake specific project management work to support the ongoing development of the division
    Develop and monitor action plans for the delivery of new service developments, addressing and resolving any performance issues
    Work with the business unit team to analyse and report on activity data and information
    Develop and maintain database of performance indicators across the division
    Develop and maintain workforce planning with the Business Manager
    Monitor activity and other performance indicators, addressing variances when they occur
    Oversee delivery of specific projects, assessing timescales and financial performance
    Ensure that agree service developments reflect the need to demonstrate high quality service provision and compliance with appropriate standards
    Develop robust costings and budget setting in the development of business cases and projects
    Contribute to delivering financial balance and Cost Improvement Programmes within the division
    Contribute to the development of a programme of training to enable admin staff within the division develop skills.
    Contribute to the development and implementation of the divisions communication strategy
    Deputise for Business Manager as required.

    Qualifications & Training
    Degree and post graduate qualification or equivalent experience

    Evidence of continued professional development within last 12 months

    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including report writing.
    Evidence of project management knowledge and process
    Effective organisational and time management skills and the ability to work to deadlines.
    Ability to use databases and spreadsheets to produce documents and reports to a high standard of presentation
    Appropriate knowledge relating to confidentiality and security of data legislation

    Have a good working of knowledge of IT databases e.g. Experience of providing excellent business support
    Able to work with a number of IT software packages e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook etc
    Evidence of self-management, organisation and time management skills
    Experience and understanding of information management and technology issues within the healthcare environment
    Ability to extract, analyse and report data and information to a range of audiences
    Ability to input data accurately onto electronic databases which may include national website and local systems
    Ability to communicate effectively at all levels using e-mail, telephone or in person and to deal with confidential and sensitive issues with tact and diplomacy
    Ability to manage non routine enquiries without immediate supervision
    Experience of dealing with clinicians and senior management staff within the NHS
