    Investment Banking Lawyer
    Based in London

    As a member of the Barclays Investment Banking Legal team in Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), you will play a key role in offering legal support for M&A and Equity Capital Markets (ECM) activities. Your responsibilities will involve providing legal and regulatory guidance on various transactional and non-transactional matters. By collaborating with different teams within Barclays, you will contribute to delivering top-notch investment banking services to our clients.

    Responsibilities:

    • Offer legal advice on M&A and ECM transactions as well as general investment banking matters
    • Review and provide guidance on various legal documents, from initial contracts to transaction agreements
    • Coordinate and oversee external legal counsel, establishing strong partnerships
    • Maintain knowledge resources, contribute to standard forms, and provide guidance
    • Contribute to regulatory advice, firm-wide initiatives, and collaborate across different bank departments
    • Stay updated on legal and regulatory changes to ensure Barclays remains compliant
    • Conduct training sessions and updates for the legal team and business units

    Requirements:

    • Qualified lawyer in the UK or a similar common law jurisdiction, other jurisdictions will also be considered
    • Experience in Corporate/M&A and/or ECM from private practice or within a financial institution
    • Strong social and communication skills, with a proactive knowledge-sharing approach
    • Previous experience thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

    Preferred Skills:

    • Basic knowledge of investment banking or other financial services
