Your new team

This position sits in our Chivas Brothers business.

At Chivas Brothers, our 1,600-strong team across 27 sites is committed to upholding the heritage of Scotch and ensuring its sustainable future, as well as opening it up to new audiences across the globe.


The scope of Operations stretches from Procurement through conversion (distillation and maturation) and manufacturing (or bottling) to all the downstream Supply Chain activities until the final product is delivered.

In addition, Operations play a very active role in Innovation, Talent Development and Operational Risk Management.


The expert Blending team are responsible for the liquid quality of our large portfolio of blended and single malt Scotch Whiskies as well as all new and maturing inventory.

The team of 9 are based out of our Kilmalid site in Dumbarton.

Your unique contribution

You will have three main areas of responsibility:

Maintaining the Sample Room - to maintain the Sample Room through good housekeeping, washing up glasses and glassware and setting up all samples for sensory assessment by the Blending team.

You will also prepare the Sample Room for external trade and customer visits and ensure all product displays are kept up to date in line with packaging changes.

Management of Samples - to be responsible for all incoming and outgoing samples and for the ordering of Samples for Spirit Quality team projects, including storage, lifting and carrying cases of samples or bottled stock within and between appropriate locations.

You will also assist in ordering and keeping all sensory standards up to date for all bulk blended whisky processed by the business.

Compliance and Documentation - to be responsible for all sample paperwork and for maintaining all HMRC records within the Spirit Quality team.

Who you'll be working with

Internally, you'll collaborate closely with the rest of the Blending team as well as the wider Production team. You will also collaborate with other departments across the company including our Vatting, Innovation and Technical teams.

Your blend of talent

This position could be right for you if you:

  • Are PC literate and able to demonstrate good numeric and literacy skills.
  • Are able to communicate well with people at all levels of the business and maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Hold a UK Driving Licence (within 18 months) as you may be required to travel and work at other locations.
  • Are detail orientated and are capable of managing multiple tasks/projects
