Description

We are currently seeking a technically focused Fire Safety Surveyor to join our team based in Washington Tyne and Wear.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our properties meet all relevant fire safety standards and regulations through various tasks, including fire damper testing, compartmentation surveys and fire door surveys.

You will take ownership of compartmentation surveys and work with the contracts manager to implement remedial works.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Taking ownership of fire risk assessments and ensuring timely action of identified risks
  • Conducting thorough inspections of properties to identify fire safety risks or hazards through compartmentation surveys and fire door surveys.
  • Providing expert advice and guidance on fire safety issues to colleagues and clients
  • Developing comprehensive remedial and compartmentation plans to address identified risks
  • Working with the contracts manager to ensure all fire safety measures and systems are properly installed, maintained, and tested
  • Keeping uptodate with the latest fire safety regulations and standards
  • Collaborating with other teams and departments to ensure that fire safety is a priority across the organisation

Qualifications and Experience:


  • Relevant technical qualifications (e.g. NEBOSH Fire Certificate or equivalent)
  • Experience of technical Fire Safety Surveying
  • Experience in conducting fire safety inspections and risk assessments
  • Knowledge of fire safety regulations and standards, including the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and relevant British Standards
  • Experience in implementing remedial and compartmentation plans to address identified risks
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
  • The ability to work independently and manage a busy workload
  • Be willing to travel and work away from home

  • Fluent in English
  • Valid driver's license with a clean record
  • Have the ability to work nights/weekends and overtime, if needed

Salary:
£23,537.32-£31,750.00 per year
