We currently have a Residential Child Care Worker post within our Short Breaks service for Disabled children in Lawrence Weston.

This is a full time position of 37 hours.


The posts require an enthusiastic, motivated and creative person who wishes to support the development and care of Children with learning difficulties and complex health care needs in a safe and fun environment.


The role of the Residential Child Care Worker is to work alongside the Registered Manager, Deputy Managers (registered nurses) and other RCCW's to provide a fun time for children with learning difficulties away from their families, having new experiences, learning independent living skills and building friendship groups.

We work a 24 hour shift pattern with rotas available 8 weeks in advance. You will be expected to work a range of days to include weekends, evenings and waking nights. We are closed on Bank holidays.


The service is offered to children between the ages of 5 and 18 with severe learning disabilities and/or complex physical health needs.

The home is fully equipped to offer a variety of activities for the children to choose, including sensory play, in and outdoor activities, cooking and water play.


It also offers families the opportunity to have a break from their caring duties, to spend time with their other children and recharge their batteries.


We have a stable staff team who have worked in the home for many years and so able to offer a supportive environment to new staff members.
