Bury, Salford and Rochdale The role available is for a Youth Substance Misuse Advocacy Worker. The main focus is to provide one-on-one support to young individuals dealing with various challenges, such as substance use, involvement in criminal activities, exploitation, learning difficulties, and other vulnerabilities. As a dedicated worker, your primary goal is to prioritize the well-being of the children you work with. You should be a reflective practitioner, seizing every opportunity to enhance your skills in this role. Strong organizational skills are essential for managing administrative tasks while also connecting deeply with vulnerable youths and their families. Your expertise in child and family services, coupled with your commitment to empowering change and ensuring safety, will be vital for this position. Key Deliverables:
  • Provide one-on-one support to young clients and their families, scheduling appointments efficiently to cater to their needs.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop SMART care plans, and offer suitable treatment interventions.
  • Integrate alternative therapies into client care plans as needed and enhance your skills in this area.
  • Engage with the community to deliver services and establish partnerships with different agencies.
  • Organize Drop Ins, if necessary, in appropriate settings for young people.
  • Participate in multi-agency meetings, acting as an advocate for the young clients.
  • Assist young clients in accessing in-patient treatment and provide after-care support.
  • Follow safeguarding policies diligently and maintain accurate client records while adhering to data protection regulations.
  • Stay updated on relevant issues through training and contribute to charitable initiatives, including social media activities and fundraising events.
