The school


Based near Thornhill in Southampton, this wonderful primary SEN School cater for young children between the ages of 4-11 years old who have complex learning difficulties.

All the children who attend here have severe level of learning difficulties and many haveassociated disabilities such as Autism, Speech and Language Disorders, and sometimes challenging behaviour.

The purpose-built school has undergone a significant expansion which has created two buildings within our main site and both buildings have wonderfulfacilities and specialist teaching rooms including food technology rooms, art rooms, ICT Suites, soft playrooms, multi-sensory interactive rooms and a hydrotherapy pool.


What you will need


For this role, you will need Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and preferably experience in working with children / young people / adults that have learning difficulties or SEN.

Whilst the children that attend this school are amazing, full of life and exude lotsof energy - they can sometimes be challenging, both verbally and physically although this is rare.

The school are looking for Teacher's that are kind, caring and empathetic, but also vigilant and confident when they need to be.

Teachers that get on well atthis school are ones that want to put the time in with each child - to learn about them, work with them on their interests, and engage them in ways that sometimes need to be 'outside of the box'.

It is very much a large school but with a very close-knit team,and so being a good team player will also serve you well here by working with the other Teachers, SSA's and support staff.
