We are currently seeking a passionate, friendly and caring SEND Tutor to join our team. You will be working with children and young adults who have multiple conditions and complex needs.

As a SEND Tutor, you will play a vital role in providing a bespoke learning journey for each student tailored around their interests and needs, while being flexible and reflective of their ability to engage at any time. You will need to think on your feet and use your initiative to create engaging learning experiences and build rapport and positive relationships with our students, staff and families.

Responsibilities include

designing and implementing individualised learning plans

delivering engaging lessons and educational experiences

quality assuring students work in line with exam body guidance

recording daily observations using bespoke software

liaison with parents and wider professionals

assisting with the completion and review of EHCP

working with students on base and out in the community

providing/supporting travel to and from activities and to develop life skills

Person Specification

Requirements:

Proven recent experience working with children and young adults with Special Education Needs and Disabilities

Knowledge and experience of SEND teaching strategies and interventions, with a focus on individual interests and flexibility

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate effective collaboration with students, parents, and colleagues

Desirable:

A full clean driving licence and access to a vehicle for work

An understanding and experience of Trauma-informed practice

An understanding and experience of using PACE approaches

Education to Level 4 or equivalent industry experience

Relevant qualifications in Special Education or a related field
