Roles & Responsibilities:

Create a collaborative culture of integrating ESG across the investment teams and wider divisional functions.

  • Lead and manage approach to embedding ESG within the Company's fund manager research and monitoring processes. This includes responsibility for policy and frameworks across fund manager ESG minimum standards, data analysis and ongoing due diligence programme.
  • Development and ongoing oversight of stewardship approach. This includes the overarching stewardship principles, divestment policy, voting approach and collaboration with engagement overlay partner.
  • Responsible for the development and ongoing management of how climate factors and approach to net zero is embedded within investment processes.
  • Working with the Investment Product Team on the implementation of new ESG regulation and future sustainable product development in particular, climate transition plans and the FCA's Sustainable Disclosure & Labelling Regime (SDR).
  • Ownership of key input and reporting insights needed within external and internal ESG disclosure and working closely with Investment Communication and Investment Data and Insights Team. This includes a range of ESG regulatory requirements (TCFD, SFDR) and wider reporting requirements (UN PRI, CDP). This involves working closely with the Responsible Business function, providing regular updates to various internal committees and being an external ambassador of the Company's approach in the industry.

Experience & Qualifications:

Relevant experience in the ESG/Responsible Investment at an asset manager, asset owner or an investment consultant.

  • Demonstrable experience of successful ESG strategy development and implementation.
  • Direct impact on the future strategy of the Group's responsible investment approach, providing direction to multiple teams both within and outside the Investment Division.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to articulate and integrate numerous viewpoints, and mobilise/influence across all levels of the organisation, including senior leaders.
  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills will bring credibility to engage productively with senior investors and leaders, including the ability to provide a point of view, constructively challenge status quo, and solve problems.
  • Experienced in attending Investment Committee and Investment Product Governance Committee meetings.
