About the role


Since 1993, every summer the doors of Buckingham Palace's glorious State Rooms have been opened to the public for hundreds of thousands of people to visit.

Joining our welcoming and highly professional Visitor Services team, you'll make their experience special.


We look forward to welcoming visitors again in 2023 and in the year of The King's coronation, you'll have the opportunity to join the team who help millions enjoy the State Rooms at Buckingham Palace.


As a Visitor Services Team Leader, you'll support the wider Visitor Services management team to ensure our Wardens have the guidance and support to welcome visitors from around the world.

Every day, you'll engage the team in briefings, answer questions, and inspire them to deliver an exceptional visitor experience.


What you'll be doing:


  • Direct supervision of a team of Wardens and a specific 'zone'.
  • Running daily briefings, training and performance reviews for your team.
  • Ensure the smooth running of your specific zone, monitoring staffing, security and customer satisfaction.
  • Act as a point of escalation for issues that arise in the daytoday operation.
  • Provide excellent customer service, always maintaining a friendly and professional service.
  • Ensure the safety and security of the visitors and the site.

About you

What you'll bring:


  • Supervisory experience, ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • A friendly and professional attitude.
  • Team player, able to work flexibly and adapt to daily needs.
  • Comfortable working on your feet, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Ability to work in a busy environment.
