We are now looking for a Welsh speaking Marketing Officer to join our team on a full time, permanent basis, working 37 hours per week.


  • THE ROLE
  • The Marketing Officer's primary role is to support the Marketing team with the planning, organisation and delivery of brandled marketing and recruitment activity that attracts prospective students to study with the University. The role will primarily focus on promoting the Welsh medium portfolio, working closely with key stakeholders across the organisation.

You will be managed by the Marketing Manager and will be expected to build close professional relationships with managers and colleagues throughout UWTSD to ensure a proactive and planned approach to all the University's marketing activities.

The role will include supporting the wider department when required and contributing to achieving strategic targets.

This includes but is not limited to attending and assisting at UWTSD Open Days and other recruitment projects and events.

You are required to develop effective relationships with key partner agencies and other internal service departments such as Welsh Language Services to ensure smooth delivery of projects.

  • ABOUT YOU
  • To be considered as a Marketing Officer, you will need:
A degree level qualification or equivalent

  • Previous experience of working in a marketing environment
  • Networking, negotiating and influencing skills with senior stakeholders
  • Evidence of capability to prioritise effectively and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Able to work as part of a team, in partnership with others, and unsupervised
  • Recognises the need for and demonstrates appropriate confidentiality
  • Able and prepared to work flexibly, including travel between campuses and other locations when required
  • Demonstrable experience of planning, implementing, and evaluating social media campaigns
  • Strong copy writing skills, recognising the importance of tone of voice, with experience of writing for a variety of audiences and differing mediums
  • Ability to communicate at a high level through the medium of Welsh oral and written

It would be beneficial if you also have:

  • Professional marketing qualification or other related field
  • Previous experience of working in Higher Education
  • Demonstrable project management experience
  • Experience of managing a budget
  • An understanding of SEO and web editing.
  • Knowledge of effective communication practices and experience of drafting engaging bilingual marketing material
