This is an excellent opportunity within the Pathology department at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust.The successful applicant will form part of the Trust's pathology department and will be a part of a team that includes 7 consultants providing a comprehensive Cellular Pathology service.
The department provides a comprehensive range of services for our resident population of approximately 500,000 residing mainly in East and North Hertfordshire and extends to the borders of Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, West Hertfordshire and Essex.
The Histopathology Service supports the various clinical specialties.These include the Breast cancer service, General Surgery, Upper GI Surgery, Colo-rectal Surgery, Urology, Ophthalmology, Plastic Surgery, Orthopaedics, Gastroenterology, Gynaecology & Obstetrics (including active colposcopy units), ENT, Dermatology, Respiratory Medicine Care for the elderly medicine, Paediatrics, Rheumatology.
It also receives GP samples from east & north Hertfordshire district.- To provide general care within the department in close cooperation with colleagues and other specialties
- To participate in surgical cutup, surgical reporting, cytology
