This is an exciting opportunity to join the Planning Team.
This role typically reports to Land & Planning Manager and will have contact with consultants, local planning authorities, stakeholders and local communities.
The purpose of the role is to carry out planning and development appraisals, prepare and submit planning and other related applications within the residential sector for both immediate and strategic sites.
Prepare and project manage different types of planning applications from Outline/Full and Reserved Matters to the discharge of planning conditions accurately so that the Region can maintain delivery of homes on new and ongoing sites
Liaise and brief internal and external layout designers, external consultants and officers at Local Planning Authorities prior, during and post submission in order to develop strong working relationships
Prepare Planning Statements, and a range of other planning documents required to support applications accurately and on time so the business can continue to achieve the necessary planning approvals
Formulating planning strategies to promote medium and long term development sites through the plan-making process under the guidance of the Planning Manager to continue a pipeline of new sites for the region
On occasion to deputise for the Head of Planning to provide support and assistance to the team
Monitor development plan progress and associated evidence based and policy documents within each local planning authority area
Previous experience working in the private or public sector in the field of development management / planning policy
Degree / Masters Planning Degree ideally with an MRTPI accreditation and a rounded knowledge of town planning
Full UK driving licence
