NUH Theatres - Gynaecology Band 6 Gynae Robotics Assistant Deputy Team Leader
An exciting opportunity has arisen for us to recruit to Nottingham University Hospital NHS Trust. This is for a Band 6 leadership and enhanced clinical skills role to support our friendly Gynaecology Theatre teams.
This post is advertised as a permanent post. You will be working across both the City Hospital and the QMC campus.
This service will run 5 days a week and there is a requirement to work flexibly with on call commitments and duties.
Main duties of the job
Ensure the highest standards of care and safety standards within NUH theatres and in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary teams implement and maintain systems and processes which ensure standards are maintained.
Provide leadership, advice and support to theatre staff and foster a learning culture which values high quality safe patient care.
You will be required to work closely with the existing team structure and demonstrate the skills to lead the team and support further development of these expanding services.
You will be required to have your Surgical First Assistant (SFA) qualification and trained or working towards your robotics assistant competence.
You will need to demonstrate the ability to be able to work flexibly in diverse clinical environments. The successful applicant will have a high level of self-management skills including time management, prioritisation and organisation.Working for our organisation
You shall mainly be working predominantly at City campus theatres but with the ability to be flexible and work cross site and potential supporting NHS patients within the private sector.

Responsibilities include:
Act as an expert resource for the multi-professional team, specialty,
Be visible, accessible and assertive, co-ordinating all aspects of patient care and staff management on a daily basis
Act as a Surgical First Assistant and/or Robotic Assistant providing clinical support as and when required.
Be a visible point of contact for patients, visitors and all the MDT acting as a resource for problems and needs
Proactively seek feedback on patient and public experiences and act on recommendations as required
Monitor the quality of patient care and ensure the highest standards of patient care (bench marking) are in place and reviewed accordingly.
Respond promptly to emerging clinical needs, complaints, and incidents and develop and participate in appropriate action plans in line with clinical governance.

Review team composition, performance and deficiencies to ensure the correct skill mix to provide quality patient care. Co-ordinate the process of recruitment of team members.
Establish a clear focus and direction for the team, allocate work amongst the team ensuring staff understand the purpose and objectives of the unit/department and their role within the team.
