Movember is the leading charity changing the face of men's health globally, tackling mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer, testicular cancer.


About the role


To support the Head of PR in the execution of the 2023 Movember PR and comms plan, from April - end April 2024.


With offices in Australia, the UK, Canada, and the US, clear communication and collaboration across our markets is key to success.

As such, and owing to time differences across markets, some out of hours work is required.

There may also be a requirement to attend events as part of the role's duties and this could require some evening/weekend work on occasion.


You'll have the opportunity to

  • Manage the daytoday handling of incoming media inquiries across a range of press including broadcast, digital and print, including booking and planning radio and TV interviews
  • Prepare draft press releases and organise reactive comments from Movember spokespeople for the media
  • Work with the Head of PR and Comms to create engaging content for press with the aim of leading the news agenda and making a lasting impact on men's health
  • Support in managing Movember's PR agencies, providing support for all daytoday handling of incoming media enquiries and guiding the agencies in their proactive outreach
  • Handle the logging and analysis of Movember's media coverage and track KPIs set by the Head of PR
  • Work with other teams internally to source engaging stories for the media
  • Conduct short interviews with local community members
  • Support with ambassador relations outreach
  • Event coordination & support

For this role, you'll need

  • 2+ years' experience working in a busy agency environment or clientside
  • A strong understanding of different types of media (long lead vs. short lead and print, online, broadcast)
  • Experience pitching to media on the phone and inperson
  • Strong understanding of the UK media landscape, with good contacts in national and regional press, as well as men's lifestyle titles
  • Confidence to conduct interviews with case studies on the phone or in person
  • To be a creative thinker who understands how to create integrated PR campaigns
  • Excellent visual, oral and written communication skills
  • Selfstarter, highly organized, and detailoriented
  • Ability to pull and manage large data base lists and do analytical recapping

Bonus points for

  • A degree in Public Relations, Journalism, English, or similar
