Description

As a Barclays Wholesale Credit Model Control Office (MCO) Manager, you will be responsible for the management of the wholesale credit risk models (PD, LGD and EAD), ensuring that both the business and regulatory risk arising from use of these models andassociated systems are effectively controlled.

You will be also responsible for sponsoring and leading change across the end to end rating system. This new model development may also include a variety of changes that impact model inputs or outputs.

What will you be doing?:


  • Working with the Model and Rating System Owner, and other senior stakeholders, in developing and executing the wholesale credit risk models strategy
  • Developing and maintaining close working relationships with key stakeholders across the BI businesses and also with the functional areas, which support and/or partner with the team in delivering its objectives
  • Keeping abreast with regulatory developments, proactively responding to any implications for IRB modelling
  • Managing and maintaining the current model inventory in line with Model Risk Policy, including presenting at senior models and rating system related committees
  • Leading and supporting projects that have bearing on wholesale credit risk models and the wider rating system

What we're looking for:


  • Excellent knowledge of the businesses, portfolios and context within which models are used
  • Good knowledge and experience in using project management methods and disciplines
  • Familiarity with regulatory programmes related to IRB models and role of related regulators (PRA, ECB, Federal Reserve, EBA)
  • Exceptional understanding of the regulation of Internal Ratings Based models of credit risk

In the heart of Canary Wharf, our headquarters at Churchill Place boasts onsite amenities such as; a gym, staff restaurant and deli bar, and is easily accessible by tube and bus links.
