    Main Duties of the Job:

    ABL is looking for a highly motivated Head of Service to establish and manage a centralized team for their national smoking cessation service. The role involves overseeing the setup and operation of the team providing remote support to face-to-face delivery teams across the country.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategies for efficient delivery of remote smoking cessation support.
    • Team Establishment: Recruit, train, and supervise admin and delivery personnel for remote support services.
    • Service Setup: Lead the setup of central support services and collaborate with stakeholders for effective care.
    • Quality Assurance: Implement measures to ensure high-quality support and monitor performance.
    • Resource Management: Effectively manage resources to meet service demands.
    • Reporting and Evaluation: Prepare reports on service activities and conduct evaluations for intervention effectiveness.
    • Training and Development: Provide ongoing training opportunities for staff in smoking cessation support.
    • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
    • Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulations and standards for smoking cessation services.
    • Performance Management: Ensure safe and effective service delivery in line with governance frameworks.

    Person Specification:

    Experience:

    Essential

    • Degree in a health-related field.
    • Demonstrable experience in community health and team management.
    • Experience working with commissioners and managing services.
    • Experience in service improvement measures and working with various healthcare sectors.

    Desirable

    • Experience in smoking cessation and broader lifestyle management.
    • Experience in growing and securing new services.

    Qualifications:

    Essential

    • Degree in a health-related field.

    Desirable

    • NCSCT qualification.

    Skills & Knowledge:

    Essential

    • Strong partnership and stakeholder relationship skills.
    • People management and leadership abilities.
    • Problem-solving skills, clinical understanding, and excellent communication.
    • Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.

    Desirable

    • Knowledge of smoking cessation practices and safeguarding in community health.
