    Job summary

    We are looking for an NMC registered Band 5 staff nurse with minimum of 2 years experience who are efficient, enthusiastic, highly motivated nurse with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work in our team on the Ambulatory Care Unit. You will be joining our friendly and dynamic multidisciplinary team with excellent standards and great work ethic .You will be supported to develop as a band 5 staff nurse through preceptorship, peer support and an exciting range of educational opportunities.

    Main duties of the job

    Work as a Registered Nurse within a ward team on Ambulatory Care including administration of controlled drugs and all prescribed medicines.

    Demonstrate high standards of care and set examples of best practice within the delivery of patient care.

    Communicate effectively with patients, relatives and healthcare practitioners.

    Support the nurse in charge of the ward and liaise with other departments and professionals to ensure the needs of the ward are met.

    Chaperone the patient as required ensuring appropriate support.

    Actively support and assist in alleviating distress and anxiety of patients, relatives or visitors, consistent with their personal beliefs and preferences.

    Works within the NMC code of practice and professional guidelines.

    Undertake such duties from time to time determined by the Co-ordinator and/or Unit Manager.

    Provides teaching, guidance, supervision and support for unqualified staff and students where required.
