SUMMARY


Powered By CAN are looking for a senior youth worker to manage and lead a team of youth workers and volunteers.

Overseeing the design and delivery of impactful, accessible and diverse programmes and services for young people in the Sandwell.

Building partnerships with local community organisations, the senior youth worker role involves developing and implementing strategies to engage and support young people, assessing their needs and developing tailored support plans, and monitoring and evaluating program outcomes.


RESPONSIBILITIES -Thematic Duties

  • To design and implement engaging and impactful programmes for young people in Sandwell.
  • To develop and lead workshops, discussions, and events on various topics such as personal development, mental health, life skills, and community engagement.
  • Collaborate with community partners, schools, and other organisations to create holistic support systems for youth.
  • To design and deliver taster sessions in schools and community spaces to promote activities provided.
  • To keep up to date with the goals and delivery model of Next Generation Now.
  • Assist with coordination (verbal and written) including communication to agencies and partners locally, regionally and nationally.
  • Provide input and collaborate where necessary with your Service Coordinator to design core content for services.

General Responsibilities
Manage, support and motivate your team to drive performance.

  • Create a safe and welcoming environment for young people, building positive relationships
- with them. Empower young people to become active participants in decision-making processes within the club, organisation and broader community.

  • Foster leadership skills and facilitate opportunities for youth to initiate and lead their own projects and initiatives.
  • Advocate for the needs and rights of young people at local, regional, and national levels.
  • To participate in regular team meetings and supervision meetings.
  • To contribute ideas that may support the ongoing development of Next Generation Now project.
  • To participate in training and development activities as required and to assist with the training and development of colleagues as appropriate.
  • To contribute to the programming and administration of bespoke commissioned services.
  • To always act in the best interest of CAN.
  • To ensure confidentiality within the organisation at all times;
  • To participate in activities which fall outside of normal working hours as required, e.g.
  • Training, Staff Meetings, Recruitment/Engagement events, fundraising events, etc.
  • To undertake other such duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature as may be
- determined from time to time by management.
