Job Introduction:


At home with housing law? Join us as a Legal Caseworker**We are looking for a problem-solving housing or legal professional to provide specialist legal support to our general needs housing teams.


Main Responsibility:


You'll manage a varied caseload, giving advice on issues such as anti-social behaviour, community safety, tenancy breaches, disrepair and rent recovery.

You will lead on progressing these cases to court and representing Notting Hill Genesis in court for most of your case load.


You will be the point of contact for solicitors and barristers, working with the local manager and in house solicitor to consider value for money when instructing these.

You will work in the local housing team, so the work is fast paced and demanding.

Its important work that helps to create the safe and happy neighbourhoods that our customers deserve, as well as ensuring Notting Hill Genesis are managing legal costs to a minimum.


To do the job well you'll need up-to-date knowledge of housing legislation, ideally supported by an understanding of related areas of civil and criminal law.

You'll be experienced at evaluating complex housing and legal casework and handling conflicting priorities.

Your organisational skills and pragmatic approach will help you to find solutions that work for our customers whilst always meeting your budget and deadlines.


You'll need to build great relationships as you'll be working closely with staff from across the business, communicating with Housing Officers, external contractors, stakeholders such as social services and residents.
