Description
Are you interested in working within United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust (ULHT) and supporting the Lincolnshire ICB to implement and deliver a new and exciting Tobacco Dependency Service (TDS) with an ambition to support the Health Prevention agenda within Lincolnshire population? If so, then this may be the job for you

ULHT is currently working in partnership with the Lincolnshire ICB to launch an acute inpatient Tobacco Dependency Service by March 2024 and has an opportunity to recruit x 2 Tobacco Dependency Service Leads to champion the long term aim of harm reduction from the use of tobacco for our service users.

The NHS Long Term Plan (LTP) has outlined a clear requirement to provide all people admitted to hospital who smoke, access to an NHS-funded tobacco treatment service by March 2024.

The LTP commitment for Tobacco Dependency is not only to support people to quit smoking, but it also provides us with greater opportunities to tackle tobacco addiction and the wider issues associated with tobacco such as second-hand smoke, reducing the uptake of smoking tobacco and harm reduction strategies.

This is a new and evolving service running Monday - Friday initially with an expectation to encompass a wider circumference of shifts and weekends as it expands.

This role will be site based Lincoln County & Boston Pilgrim respectively. The post holders need the ability to travel to all Trust sites.

If successful, you will:

  • Provide clinical leadership to junior colleagues within the team.
  • Work in partnership with service users (patients), their carers and internal/external colleagues within the multidisciplinary team (MDT)
  • Deliver a high quality, evidence based service.
  • Demonstrate good personal communication skills.
  • Actively promote excellent team and interdisciplinary relationships especially in relation to setting up this service.
  • Have the tools and ability and experience to build a strong, robust and successful team.

This is an exciting opportunity to help the people of Lincolnshire to make healthier lifestyle choices, achieve the best clinical outcomes and support ULHT with our smoke free agenda.
