Our Subsea Energy business in Ulverston, Cumbria is on the lookout for an experienced Stores Person to join our business.


The role of the Despatch Assistant is to process and organise job and shipping documentation, monitor and manage internal and external customer communication and ensure all record keeping is accurate.

Siemens Subsea has an established global reputation for the manufacture and delivery of world-class subsea connector and measurement technology. Located in Ulverston, South Lakes, Cumbria, close to the Lake District, at our 11,000 sq.

ft purpose-built factory we design, manufacture, test and install subsea connector and measurement technology for the oil and gas industry and have acquired an enviable global reputation for the manufacture and delivery of our products.

Your profile:


  • Experience of working within a Logistical/Warehouse/Stores environment
  • Working knowledge of SAP
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Working to the highest levels of health and safety
  • Ability to demonstrate quality awareness
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively in all levels within and outside of the organisation
  • Organised and logical approach to work

Your responsibilities:


  • To liaise with both colleagues and customers across all disciplines and at all levels.
  • To create, check and prepare all despatch documentation.
  • To maintain accurate records of finished goods inventory and despatched goods.
  • To ensure the safe and timely delivery of all shipments.
  • To organise and coordinate the services provided by all external carriers.
  • To actively drive and support continual improvement activities, ideas, and suggestions to support Department Manager in developing department to better fit business needs.
  • To ensure that all duties are undertaken in a safe and professional manner.
  • Always work safely, complying with health and safety and other relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Follow relevant instructions and be able to use effectively and efficiently relevant documentation and IT systems that support the Despatch activities.
  • Have a detailed understanding of the end to end process for the receipt of goods, SAP, PEGA and courier booking systems.
  • To monitor and manage the department mailbox with regards to enquiries, queries and required responses.
  • Assist other departments within the business and act as points of contact for day to day activities.
  • Show excellent attention to detail.
  • Have a good working relationship with the following areas of the business.
