Description
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join our Muirhall site. The available position is permanent and full-time, and will report to the Electrical, Controls & Instrumentation Manager.


Overall purpose of Role:


Assisting the Maintenance Team by carrying out DSEAR inspections to identify and locate equipment in hazardous areas, mapping out equipment in drawings, repairing faults and supporting the removal of redundant assets.


Skills & Experience:


Background
An experienced, time-served engineer with an Electrical bias.

Familiar with all aspects of DSEAR and COMAH regulations, with extensive experience in inspecting and repairing a large volume of assets.

Should be comfortable with supporting on the commissioning activities for new project installation.


Technical Experience

  • EITB / City & Guilds or equivalent time served Engineering Apprenticeship
  • COMPEX Certification EX01-EX0 18thEdition Certified
  • Relevant experience in the maintenance of electrical, controls and instrumentations
  • Intermediate PC Skills
  • Basic understanding of Maximo or similar asset management software
  • IPAF & PASMA qualification desirable

Health, Safety & Environment

  • Trained, competent and experienced in Permit to Work systems, risk assessments and method statements
  • Solid knowledge of HSE legislation relating to onsite maintenance of assets and process plant
  • Experience of working on an upper tier COMAH site
  • Experienced in safely performing isolations

Main Responsibilities:


  • Ensuring that all engineering activities on and off-site are carried out in accordance with the necessary Company health and safety requirements, complying with the current legislation associated with an Upper Tier COMAH site, to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Daily operation of the Intrinsic Arnlea System to maintain the database.
  • Investigation of inspection areas to locate, tag and map out assets across site; using ID numbers, location drawings and circuit drawings.
  • Liaising with the Technical Team and external service providers to transfer sketches to Autocad, with the formalised drawings to be uploaded to Qpulse.
  • Conduct minor remedial fixes to secure asset passes where required.
  • Identify and upload all equipment failures to MAXIMO.
  • Support the Maintenance Team in the repairs of faults, as well as the removal of redundant equipment, located during inspections and general maintenance work where required.
  • Provide guidance / support on design / installation of new project installation.
  • Any other duties that may reasonably be required in line with your contractual role.
