A fast-growth laboratory testing company is looking for a new Analytical Chemistry Manager to join their team.You will be responsible for managing the projects according to ISO standards, managing the chemistry team, and maintaining a good relationshipbetween the chemistry and other teams within the company.
You will require a chemistry-based degree, and several years of commercial laboratory experience, along with management or supervisory practice.The Role
- Manage the Analytical Chemistry team on a daily basis with priorities being set as per the business needs.
- Organising and delegating projects to appropriate colleagues in within the team.
- Planning future improvement for the department.
- Maintain relationships between the customers and the team, updating the customers with the stage of testing, phone conferences and meetings with current and potential customers.
- Assist the team to develop and design new testing methods by adaptation of current methods or design of new methods to client's requirements, if required.
- Collaboration with General manager about the needs and improvements in the company's Chemistry department.
- Manage the training for Chemistry team members on the analytical instrumentation at the company facilities.
- Manage projects deadlines.
- Effective communication with the General Manager about any issues in the company's Chemistry lab.
- Time management and effective project planning.
- Team motivation.
- Manage the writing and continuously improvement of the Chemistry Dept procedures/ SOPs/ WIs, documentation.
- Present at conferences.

- Present at conferences.
- Conduct and attend managers meetings.
- Support in recruiting qualified team members.
- Maintenance and troubleshooting of analytical instrumentation.
- Supervise work in the company's Analytical Chemistry lab area.
- Good communication skills with both team members and external clients and partners
- Ability to understand customers' needs and tackle new challenges effectively
- Ability to plan and manage active and potential projects simultaneously
- Good knowledge of the analytical instrumentation and of scientific principles
- Ability to present at a conference when needed.
- Write articles for technical magazines/website.
- In depth knowledge of relevant ISO's
- ISO 18562, ISO1099
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, or similar
- Organisational/Project Management Skills
