Assessing, Planning and implementing the care of acutely unwell adults and children and those with minor injuries,
Duties of an emergency department nurse are vast and cover a lot of ground. However, in the fast-paced setting of an emergency department, they need to be executed quickly and cohesively. An emergency department nurse helps staff prioritise care based on the critical nature and severity of a patient's condition. A nurse's medical knowledge, quick thinking, and attention to detail lend a hand towards comprehensively assessing a patient's needs, obtaining their medical history and personal information, and seeking a doctor's evaluation immediately for life-threatening issues.
Working for our organisation
At Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust we provide outstanding care to both our patients and our staff. We support staff through benefits, health and wellbeing initiatives and opportunities for personal and professional development.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
As an Emergency Department we are committed to providing high quality care within a demanding service by ensuring our nursing team is proactive and possess the additional clinical skills required to provide individualised care for patients presenting conditions.
You must demonstrate excellent communicate skills, initiative, drive and a willingness to learn to expand your knowledge and skills.
