The Role:


The Quality team are currently recruiting for proactive individual to collaborate and support the Quality Manager UK, management team, operational personnel, and support services to plan all necessary quality function activities and the effective use of resources.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Ensure the planned arrangements are undertaken efficiently and are monitored, reviewed, and continuously improved.
  • Compile and issue periodic reports to management which confirm the planned arrangements and the extent to which those arrangements and their desired outputs have been met.
  • Ensure maintenance of required skills, capabilities, and applicable certifications.
  • Deliver quality related training as and when required, actively seek, and propose opportunities for improvement.
  • To facilitate the delivery of effective Internal Audit Schedule as agreed and aligned to the business needs. In support of this, to also conduct internal audits.
  • To assist in the preparation of PRS UK external audits and visits on suppliers and other parties.
  • Assist and support management in addressing and correcting audit findings (Internal and External).
  • Assist in the compilation of Quality data analysis in liaison with the Quality Manager UK and Operations.
  • Undertake project and product quality planning using client supplied information, relevant engineering drawings, specifications, national and international standards, and business needs. Prepare and implement quality plans, inspection and test plans as required by contract, procedure or work instruction and provide a closed loop system for the management of quality records
  • Develop, improve, and maintain associated IMS procedures, local level quality procedures, standard work instructions and toolbox talks, and contribute to the ongoing development of the QMS/IMS.
  • Conduct personnel training including the use of recognized quality tools such as; SPC, Ishikawa, Pareto, 8D, etc.
  • Monitor and report KPIs and statistical information in a timely manner and when required for input into the periodic management meetings and for quality performance analysis. Attend/Lead (where required) and contribute to meetings including: contract review, handover, continuous improvement, lessons learned, rapid improvement workshops MRA meeting, NCR/CC meetings, and standard review meetings etc.
  • To support and liaise with Operations to facilitate the quality team to deliver effective routine inspections and when necessary perform routine inspections and tests for attributes and variables on work in progress including; components, subassemblies, final assemblies and purchased materials, verify products and materials against relevant engineering drawings, specifications, national and international standards, quality plans and inspection and test plans, as required by contract, procedure or work instruction. plan and facilitate client inspections as required/requested

Skills and Experience:


  • Qualifications obtained within a relevant engineering discipline. HNC/HND level or timeserved
  • City and Guilds 743 or CQI Certificate.
  • Membership of the CQI or other relevant professional group is desirable
  • Integrated systems auditor certificate from a recognised training body
  • Demonstrable use of quality tools such as SPC, Ishikawa, Pareto, RCA, 8D etc.
  • Development and use of sound inspection techniques including first principle measurement and evaluation of conformance to specifications, drawings and standards
  • Selfstarter, able to work within time constraints and with minimum supervision
  • Knowledge of CNC/NC, CAD/CAM is desirable
  • Previous experience of product verification against relevant standards and specifications.
  • Depth of knowledge of ISO standards, integrated systems and procedural requirements
