    Are you looking for an exciting development opportunity at a Band 6 level looking to develop your clinical expertise, triage, training and supervisory skills in a community setting? We are looking for a Band 6 /7 role development Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our Intermediate Care Team.

    The current availability is for a permanent full time member of staff, 37.5 hours per week.

    Main duties of the job The post holder will be working in the Intermediate Care Team( based in SW Surrey) covering Guildford and Waverley areas and based at Milford hospital.Work will involve providing specialist assessment and therapy programs to patients in their own homes and supporting our Community rehab assistants(CRAs) ,Community Rehab Practitioners(CRPs) and students as required. The service is provided across 7 days.

    The post holder will have Professional responsibility for themselves and those they supervise. They will be expected to support the on-going development of clinical practice, standards, research, as well as policies, protocols, guidelines and service development alongside the other therapists and nurses in the team.     To carry and manage a clinical caseload of varying conditions.

    To provide supervision to a Community Rehabilitation assistant within the team

    To communicate effectively to the multi-disciplinary team to promote patient safety and the management of risk. Person Specification Qualifications Essential
    • BSc/ Diploma in Occupational Therapy or equivalent
    • Registered with Health Professionals Council
    • Evidence of Statutory training(through agency)
    Desirable
    • Clinical Educator training-N/A
    • Member of relevant Specialist interest clinical group
    • Member of the COT
    Knowledge and skills Essential
    • Experience across the acute and/or community setting, having completed relevant band 6 Occupational Therapy competencies/experience
    • Knowledge of a wide range of patient groups including elderly care, orthopaedics, musculoskeletal conditions, falls prevention
    • Experience of working autonomously assessing and diagnosing and treating patients
    • Experience of audit, research and evidence based care
    • Experience of working in a multi- disciplinary team and contributing to team decisions
    • Demonstrate and understanding of National agenda for speciality and have knowledge of the quality standards and NICE recommendations/ NSF/ CQC
    Desirable
    • Experience in supervising band 5 Occupational therapist, Community Rehab assistants(CRAs),Community Rehab Practitioners(CRPs)and students
    • Experience of lone working and decision making
