    You will act as the professional Nurse Lead providing clinical advice, compassionate leadership and a high level of visibility. You will be responsible for setting the standards in line with Health Board Values and the monitoring and management of quality standards within your designated clinical area. You will ensure excellence in nursing practice to facilitate the delivery of the highest level of quality & person centered of care.

    The successful candidate will be an individual who will be committed to inspire nurses to provide professional, evidence based care and we would particularly welcome applications from individuals who have experience in both developing and sustaining a positive team culture

    You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, clear decision-making capabilities, be a vocal advocate for the patient and have current knowledge and expertise in the care of patients across specialties. As a Matron you will work alongside the senior management team delivering quality of care, staff management and patient experience as key priorities. The position requires potential applicants to show evidence of leading teams and have a clear ability to facilitate team learning

    Main duties of the job

    You will work closely within the Cancer Division Head of Nursing and Matrons providing visible & compassionate leadership together with responsibility for the management of Nursing within the North Wales Cancer treatment center. Your role will encompass effective management of Quality and safety, workforce, performance and finance.

    Our preferred candidate will have experience of working in a senior leadership role within cancer or an individual who is keen to develop their knowledge within cancer care.

    You will be motivated and passionate about working in the role of Matron, providing excellent patient centred care. You will be a professional role model, demonstrating flexibility, visibility, and excellent communication skills to patients, families, staff and play a key role in influencing and supporting wider strategic drivers. Excellence in Quality care is our ethos & you will be key to us achieving this.

    As part of the Senior Nursing team for the division you will be fully supported to develop yourself professionally to meet the demands of this role.

    The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
