Protecting patient safety is the primary function of the General Dental Council (GDC).

One of the ways we achieve this is assuring dental education and training is both consistent and meets high quality standards.

As an Education Quality Assurance Officer at the GDC you will have the opportunity to further your expertise in quality assurance whilst making a valuable contribution to protecting patients and making a real difference to people's lives.

In this key role you will manage the quality assurance of education and training programmes for dentists and dental care professionals.

This includes assessing new course submissions, inspecting, and monitoring programmes to identify any potential risks to patient safety, and handling complaints about qualifications.

The role also involves managing a team of education associates, providing leadership and advice to associates and educational providers, and drafting detailed inspection reports that will be published.

You will represent the GDC externally, build and maintain relationships with other team members and stakeholders, contribute to the design and implementation of changes to current and future quality assurance processes, and support the Head of Education Policy and Quality Assurance in carrying out other work to support the team.

Please note the role requires travel across the UK on a regular basis and managing the work of the inspection team throughout the duration of inspections, including out of hours.
