Key Tasks
- To provide HR support and advice to employees and line managers where appropriate, explaining policies and procedures in a timely and effective manner
- Accurately produce, in a timely manner, all information required by the Head of HR for the HR Monthly Report
- Assist the Head of HR in the development of HR policies and procedures
- Manage recruitment process
- Manage the new starter process
- Ensure all preemployment checks and employment references are carried out fully and in a timely manner
- Administer the performance management and probationary review system
- Manage the leaver administration & paperwork process
- Coordination and minute taking of Union meetings, providing meeting minutes to all attendees after approval
- Short and longterm absence management and administration
- Management of the onsite periodic colleague health reviews with occupational health
- Logging return to work interviews and analysing the information to help reduce absence on a monthly basis
- Analysis of trigger points for absence reviews
- To review all HR related administrative processes with a view to creating efficient work flows
- Creating and keep up to date 'How To' of all HR process
- Support the Head of HR in managing training initiatives
- Investigate, book and manage all training requirements for the Company following the 'training process'
- To maintain an accurate and uptodate filing system (soft and hard copy)
- Ensure the Training database and paperwork are kept up to date in an easy to access format
- Adhoc project work as agreed with Head of HR
- HR administration duties
- Any other reasonable duties as requested
Person Specifiacation
- Previous experience working within HR Administration is essential
- Previous experience working in a HR Advisor role is desirable
- Manufacturing experience is an advantage
- Basic employment law knowledge
- PC literate
- Microsoft suite and databases
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- Working towards or fully CIPD qualified is essential at a minimum of Level 5 (or qualified by experience)
- Employment law qualification would be an advantage
- To work in a confidential manner at all times
- Communicate in a positive manner both verbally and in writing
- Strive to achieve the objectives that are set for you
- Ensuring all tasks are fully completed with appropriate timescales
- Work methodically and in an organised manner 'Clean Desk'
- Prioritise your work load and complete tasks and projects within agreed and reasonable timescales
- Demonstrate initiative to address problems and implement solutions to improve working practices where possible
