We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Freedom to Speak Up (FTSU) Guardians, so if you are passionate about staff wellbeing, supporting an improving culture and safety, and really want to make a difference then this would be the perfect position for you.


At the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, King's Lynn we continue to create a culture where staff feel comfortable speaking up when they have concerns, knowing they will be listened to, and timely and appropriate action taken.


We are committed to the importance of Speaking Up and have recently invested to increase the team recognising the importance of this role.

We are also mindful of its centrality to our continuous improvement and culture transformation work, and want to ensure we have a resilient service for staff moving forward, building on the good work we have started.

The QEH is fortunate to have a diverse workforce. We are therefore recruiting two part-time Lead Freedom to Speak Up Guardians to support staff across the Trust. This opportunity is therefore open to all members of Team QEH currently working at Band 7 or above


PLEASE NOTE:
Salary will be paid according to the successful applicant's currently working at Band 7 or above**
You will:
  • work independently, impartially and objectively, with individuals and groups throughout the organisation
- support and contribute to the national Freedom to Speak Up Guardian network
- offer advice/feedback to ensure speaking up policies/processes are effective
- ensure details of your role are regularly communicated across the organisation
- remain in regular contact with our Freedom to Speak up Champions
- provide regular reports


You will work with an existing part-time Freedom to Speak Up Guardian and part-time Independent Freedom to Speak Up Guardian, alongside our 20 Freedom to Speak Up Champions.


As Lead Freedom to Speak up Guardians your role will be to protect patient safety and the quality of care, improve the experience of staff and promote learning and improvement.


You will ensure that staff are supported to speak up, look to address barriers and promote a positive culture, whilst ensuring issues raised are used as opportunities for learning and improvement.

You will work closely with senior leaders in the organisation and support the Freedom to Speak Up Champions.


You will follow guidance issued by the National Guardian's Office and contribute to the national network of Freedom to Speak up Champions.
