Business Development Manager - Fintech


My client is an established & exciting fintech player with an innovative lending platform, sitting right at the heart of one of the fastest growing Payments ecosystems.


Following significant investment, they are looking for a Senior BDM to report directly to the Head of Sales and play a critical role in delivering significant impact on business growth.

Joining a small but fast growing and talented team, this role will focuson identifying, engaging, qualifying and closing new opportunities with mid-market and large Retail Merchants.

To be successful you will be a natural hunter with strong strategic sales and business development skills.

You will be energised by the pace andaccountability that comes with operating in a high growth, ambitious organisation and you will have refined influencing and collaboration skills.


Key Responsibilities for the Business Development Manager - Fintech

  • Strategic business development expert who will build a pipeline of merchant prospects through clear planning, accountbased strategies and organised outreach.
  • Design and management of prospecting strategy with bespoke, target audience specific execution, working cross functionally to deliver optimal effectiveness.
  • Drive tailored sales pitches that excite and inspire prospects, relentlessly driving them through the sales process.
  • Drive and deliver high quality and comprehensive RFP/RFI responses, comfortably engaging at all levels of an organisation.
  • Lead on contracting and commercial negotiations to bring target prospects and pipeline to market.
  • Ongoing management and reporting of progress to goals, updates and new insights.
  • Show impeccable sales hygiene, keeping realtime records of prospect and deal progress up to date via Hubspot.

Requirements for the Business Development Manager - Fintech

  • Industry experience (e.g. Digital payments, retail finance, payment processing, consumer credit) and demonstrated experience selling into midsized and large retail merchants
  • Strong (5+ years) experience in building and developing long term relationships with prospects and customers with a business turnover of £10 million and above.
  • Detailed and rigorous approach to building a targeted prospect list, developing a strong pipeline and managing an effective sales process.
  • Demonstrated success in managing pipeline to target and balancing longer sales cycles.
  • Hones discovery skills with a proven track record in consultative selling.
  • Skilled communicator, both verbal and written and highly persuasive in a complex solution sales environment.
