Description
We are a broadband and utilities sector provider, based in Central Scotland.Due to continued growth we are seeking a motivated individual to join our in-house workshop to repair and maintain our in house plant excavators/breakers/plant trailers and small plant repairs (Rammers/Dumpers etc).
You will be responsible for troubleshooting issues and fixing them, to ensure maximum reliability and functionality.
It is essential that you have been fully trained and qualified as a plant fitter to city & guilds standard or NVQ level.
Working hours will be as follows:
Monday - Friday
7am - 5pm
Overtime available most weekends and evenings as required for breakdown, emergency cover.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Inspect plant engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately.
- Inspect all small plant/service and repair, maintain and upgrade as required.
- Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts etc).
- Schedule future maintenance sessions, servicing, loler, routine maintenance.
- Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues (e.g. hydraulic oil leaks).
- Provide accurate estimates (cost, time, effort) for a repair or maintenance job.
- Keep logs on work and issues.
- Maintain equipment and tools in good condition.
- To control the use of materials, tools and consumables to minimise wastage.
- Maintaining service and repair records, job cards and utilising checked safe system.
- To source all required parts, via our approved suppliers list.
- Work alongside purchasing to obtain best price, quality and required delivery times, to ensure mínimal downtime.
Experience
- Vehicle Technician since qualifying: 1 year (preferred)
- Being qualified to carry out loler inspections and issue certification would be an advantage, however you must be skilled to a level to produce and maintain the highest level of quality standards.
- Previous plant experience as a plant fitter is essential.
Applicants must:
- Have your own tools
- Have a valid driving license
- Hold excellent knowledge or mechanical, electrical and electronic components of vehicles.
- Ability to handle various tools and heavy equipment (e.g. lift).
- Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods.
- Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals etc.
