local authority in

Tyneside, to recruit an experienced

Placements Officer If you are looking to increase your earnings for the year,


Contract: 3-6 months (Possible Extension)

Salary:
£16 p/h umbrella

Start Date:
ASAP

Shift Pattern: 36 hours / Full-time

DUTIES:


  • Prepare and complete information regarding referrals and chair weekly allocations meeting within the Fostering Service. Maintain accurate records of each meeting.
  • Manage notifications for Out of Area placements
  • Gather data, maintain accurate information on all key areas of Placements Service activity and analyse information to inform service development.
  • Monitor adherence to legislative requirements.
  • Offer support and advice to workers in the Social Work Teams on Placement Service issues.
  • Maintenance of Private Fostering register.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:


  • NVQ4 Business Administration or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
  • NVQ3/Equivalent in Child Care qualification.
  • Experience of working in a child care focussed environment and dealing with child protection.
  • Good understanding of the needs of looked after children.
  • Experience of direct contact with service users and professionals.
