Description

Seven Social Care are looking for a Visual Impairment Specialist Support Assistant in the Bradford, West Yorkshire area. This is a full time role (37 hours per week) with a rate of pay set at £12.21 p/h.

Main Responsibilities:

To undertake and implement work/care/support programmes with individuals/groups to enable access to learning for pupils and to assist the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom.
To facilitate access to the curriculum and whole school environment for children/young people with vision impairment.
To supervise and provide specialist support for pupils with vision impairment.
Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement under guidance of the teacher.
Prepare, maintain and use specialist equipment required to meet the lesson plan / relevant learning activity and assist pupils in their use.
Assist with the development and implementation of individual programmes of work, as detailed in the EHCP, and to include braille / tactile/ habilitation programmes.

Requirements:

NVQ2 or above
English and Mathematics GCSE/O level A*c or equivalent
Relevant specialist qualification
