As a Barclays Analyst Developer, you will act as the conduit between the key Risk Measurement and reporting business functions, and the Group Risk Technology teams based in the UK and India to take the lead in developing change for the production of Regulatoryand Economic Capital Reporting.

The primary delivery will be the transition from legacy SAS GRID Basel III compliant solution using SAS Regulatory Risk 5.4 to a newly provisioned SAS Regulatory Capital Management (6.1) and Stratum solution to meet Basel IVcompliance.

What will you be doing?:


  • Translating complex business requirements into technical designs and further to high quality code, acting as the development interface to the business function
  • Shaping the strategy for this key Regulatory product in partnership with the Solution Architect and the Senior Technology Lead
  • Driving the Group Risk Strategy for RWA production and interlocking designs to meet the architectural roadmap
  • Steering and mentoring less experienced Analyst Developers
  • Ensuring that synergies across the RFT Technology stack are leveraged and Architectural policies and practices are adhered to
  • Liaising and communicating with business stakeholders

What we're looking for:


  • Tenacious communicator who can draw out detail, but maintain a holistic overview of the processes that support the generation of regulatory and Economic Capital reporting
  • Excellent developer with a Credit Risk background, advanced level experience of SAS Inc. solutions
  • Intermediate Level experience of SAS Regulatory Risk Management or Credit Risk Management for Banking
  • Ability to translate detailed business requirements into design documents intended to inform the RFT Architecture council and developers alike

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Big Data / Hadoop / Impala integration
  • Working knowledge of Credit Risk, Capital Requirements Directive IV, CoRep and Basel III
  • Relevant Solutions Business Analyst / Technology qualifications
  • Some Solutions Architecture experience and working knowledge of Cloud based solutions

This state-of-the art energy efficient building holds up to 2,500 staff.

The office location is perfect for travel from the midlandsand London alike as we are based just off the A45, it is easily accessible by both car and bus routes.
