Your role at a glance
We're currently looking to hire a Delegated Solutions Associate to join Legal and General Investment Management Delegated Solutions team


The Delegated Solutions team works with clients to design, implement and manage full scheme solutions for UK DB pension schemes, drawing on the full breadth of Legal and General Investment Management's (LGIM) capabilities to deliver against client-specific objectives, typically assessed against a scheme's funding level.


The team's work takes many forms including the provision of investment advice, investment strategy design and portfolio construction, risk analysis and asset/liability modelling, efficient implementation of strategies, fund management, and ongoing client engagement and bespoke reporting.

Much of the Delegated Solutions team's work leverages LGIM's existing capabilities - including the use of Index Funds, Multi-Asset Funds, Global Fixed Income, LDI, Real Assets and derivative strategies - combinations of which are assembled and managed by the Delegated Solutions team based on the team's deep understanding of clients' specific risks, objectives and constraints

What you'll be doing

  • Assisting in the provision of investment advice to DB pension scheme trustees, working with clients to understand their requirements and delivering innovative solutions
  • Bespoke investment strategy analysis and risk modelling, covering longterm strategy, journey plan and dynamic derisking trigger design
  • Portfolio construction and design preparing detailed schemespecific reports and analysis to facilitate decisionmaking on investment strategy, risk and asset allocation topics
  • Assisting in the management of full scheme mandates for DB pension schemes, assessed against liabilitydriven benchmarks, typically delegating slices of the mandates to other parts of Legal and General Investment Management (LGIM) to utilise the full range of our existing capabilities
  • Working with clients and other internal teams to deliver bespoke client reporting and scheme management information
  • Communication of complex analysis and sophisticated ideas in a concise and understandable fashion, both in writing and in person
  • Team work and project management within a professional, highly motivated team, to meet tight deadlines
What we're looking for

  • To hit the ground running in this role you'll have a strong understanding of defined benefit pension scheme liabilities and the UK pensions landscape
  • Experience of drafting and delivering the regular (quarterly and annual) materials required by pension scheme trustees/stakeholders
  • You'll demonstrate strong knowledge and understanding of major asset classes
  • Proven ability to prepare clientfriendly written reports
  • Proven ability to proactively create new or evolve existing processes and tools to improve efficiency
  • You will have excellent attention to detail and be organised and structured in approach to Project Management
  • Desirable: Partqualified Actuary or CFA, VBA or coding skills
  • Proven ability to deliver high quality numerical analysis
