Description
To be responsible for the co-ordination of volunteers i.e. recruitment, selection, placing, training and supporting volunteers within the ward befriending roles. To organise targeted recruitment within the community and raise awareness of volunteer vacancies. To undertake the necessary checks including ID, DBS and Trust checks.To organise, deliver and document volunteer information sessions and training. To develop and deliver volunteer awareness training for staff to enable staff to support volunteers within the organisation. To keep accurate and up to date records of volunteers and provide statistical information regularly throughout the project. To monitor and evaluate the service.
To encourage networking and mutual support between volunteers. To liaise with ward staff regarding volunteer placements and agree appropriate guidelines. To establish and maintain community links with a wide range of voluntary organisations.
Any other tasks commensurate with the grade of this post at the request of the volunteer administrator/organiser or voluntary services manager, to ensure the smooth operation of the department.
Work in line with department guidelines and policies, and offer suggestions for improvements to procedures/policies to support continual development of the service.
