Description
Warstock Lane CMHT is offering a Preceptorship programme to help newly qualified nurses get the very best start, not only within nursing but within community nursing/community care.
Our preceptorship programme is designed specifically for you as a newly qualified nurse, to support you in that transition and to build the confidence of working independently within a community setting.
The programme is a 'hands' on practical approach by where you will be allocated a mentor to work under the supervision of, whilst working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
As part of the preceptorship you will meet with service users, parents and carers to gain insight of what the expectations are from a recipient's perspective.
As well as discussing with members of the team around the challenges and achievements of not only the team but individuals, whilst carrying a slightly reduced caseload to work with under the supervision of the mentor and team.
We will help you to develop in confidence as a nursing professional, enhance your skills and continue your journey of life-long learning.
Upon successful completion of the 18 month preceptorship programme if you are starting with the team straight from training or 12 months if currently working as a band 5 you will progress into a band 6 role and take on the responsibilities associated with that grade.
Our 4000 clinical and support staff help us to improve mental health wellbeing and meet the needs of the 70,000 people we serve each year.
We provide a range of mental healthcare services across Birmingham and Solihull, as well as specialised services nationally. We also offer medical, nursing and psychology training and are proud of our international reputation for both research and innovation.
Our population is culturally diverse, characterised in places by high levels of deprivation which create an increasing demand for our services and a necessity for us to make sure everyone can access the help they need.
We are a team of compassionate, inclusive and committed people working together to provide excellent care to support our community.
If you are looking for a place to belong, where you can make a real difference to people's lives, join our team where our warm welcome is waiting for you.
