MMP has just had a new opportunity for a Clerk Of Works to join one of our clients in East London.

Overall Responsibility:

To uphold the key aspects of Health & Safety, Quality and Programme to all projects.

To provide a high quality professional Clerk of Works quality control inspection service and technical support service to the Development Teams to ensure quality in construction and future design of all client's projects.

Key Information:

Carry out regular quality inspections of works in progress to ensure compliance with the contract specification and drawings, Statutory Authority and Health & Safety requirements.
Notifying divergences to the contractor and reporting the same to scheme Development Managers and Employers Agents in weekly written reports
Attend pre construction design meetings and other meetings as required.
Act as our clients Technical Representative at snagging, desnag, handover and defects inspections, attending monthly site meetings when needed.
Inspecting post contract defects and recommending solutions and if required, coordinate remedial action
Checking client choice of fixtures, finishes and appliances on shared ownership schemes
Maintain dialogue with Development Managers advising immediately of any issues of concern
Provide regular monthly reports to an appropriate standard on allocated schemes.
Have a good working knowledge of Health and Safety and Fire Safety requirements for construction
Develop good quality relationships with external partners on site to facilitate dialogue and resolution of problems.

Skills/ Experience

Must be qualified in a relevant discipline (Civil, Environmental, Engineering, Architecture or Project Management)
Membership of a relevant professional body. E.g. MICWCI
A sound understanding of architectural and project technical requirements, the development process and infrastructure.
A strong understanding of current Building Regulations and other regulatory documents within the construction industry.
IT literate
Understanding of technical drawings and able to relate them to built structures.

Sound knowledge of construction project methodology and the local planning legislation
