Graduate Primary School Teaching Assistant (April Start)

Ortus Recruitment is currently seeking recent university Graduates with teaching aspirations to join an ''Outstanding'' Ofsted rated 3 form-entry Primary School based in Stockwell.

They are currently looking for their support staff team after the half-term break supporting children in KS1 and KS2 classes.

This is a fantastic opportunity for passionate graduates to gain hands-on experience in a mainstream primary school.

The role:

- working 1:1 with pupils working below targets and pupils with special educational needs (includes Autism and ADHD)
- supporting them with their classwork, encouraging their interaction and engagement in lessons
- supporting the class teacher with the delivery of lessons

Requirements:

A degree or relevant qualifications in Education, Maths, English, Sciences, Psychology, Drama, or Performing Arts or related field
Strong understanding of working with children/ young people, e.g., Youth Work, Mentoring, Tutoring, Childcare, Voluntarily
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Must be able to undergo a full Enhanced DBS check

This full-time role will be available for the rest of the academic year, working during school hours (08:30 - 16:00, Monday to Friday), with the potential to become permanent staff if you really impress the school.
