Description

We are looking for a professional, ambitious and confident Nights Senior Support Worker who is able to lead on shifts and assist the Manager in the management of the home, including supervising staff, administration tasks and providing support to peoplewho live at the service.

Your Day-to-Day

To act as buddy to new Support Workers
Ensure that the role and responsibilities of the Support Worker is full understood and demonstrated by all support staff.
Ensure that Staff read and understand the ward Manual of Care

Act as a Role Model with professional behavior, respecting residents and confidentiality, developing other Staff, sharing knowledge and skills, and being supportive when there are crises or incidents.

Act as a trainer/coach to the team, ensuring that training is consistently and accurately applied in the workplace, identifying skills gaps and arranging/delivering coaching to fill gaps.


  • Work with the team and contribute to raising standards, increased focus on resident needs, promoting the philosophy of the service putting residents at the heart of everything we do

Responsibility for ensuring that new initiatives, changes in policy and procedure are cascaded to support workers, implemented and consistently applied on the ward to agreed standards and timescales.


We're looking for people who have:
Excellent communication and leadership skills and the ability to be a good team player
Sensitive and intuitive with the energy required to provide a trusting, stimulating & varied environment
Helping to empower & support service user independence.
Flexible to work 12 hour shift patterns on a rota basis including weekends
NVQ level 2 or equivalent in a relevant care setting is preferable but not essential
