THE COMPANY:

Brewster Partners are delighted to be recruiting for a Proposal Engineer. Ideally a Post Graduate with 1 to 2 years experience.


The role will operate between sales and engineering, gathering, and reviewing information about client specific requirements, developing concepts and costings with reference to previous work undertaken and producing detailed technical proposals and bids.


THE JOB:


  • Demonstrate a good commercial awareness and an understanding of customer wants and needs.
  • Run with multiple projects in a fast paced and agile environment.
  • Employ a good level of knowledge for complex mechanical system that includes techniques for low volume production, i.e. milling, turning, fabricated frameworks, sheet metal fabrication etc.
  • Demonstrate a good level of knowledge in the design of pneumatic systems and a basic understanding of hydraulic systems.
  • Demonstrate a good level of knowledge in PLC control systems within an industrial environment and ideally have an interest in Industry 4.0
  • Have expertise in the use of 3D CAD design software (ideally SolidWorks) and the ability to produce 3D rendered concept drawings. 2D capability would also be desirable.
  • Have knowledge of advanced manufacturing techniques and a willingness to keep abreast of advancements in all aspects of engineering.
  • Occasional requirement to accompany sales account managers to site visits.

THE PERSON:


  • Engineering degree ideally in either mechanical, electrical or a mechatronics and or Apprenticeship equivalent with relevant experience.
  • Minimum 23 years post qualification mechanical design engineering experience.
  • Hands on exposure to the design of electromechanical systems in an industrial, automotive or aerospace environment, ideally designing special purpose, automation/materials handling equipment.
  • Demonstrates a good understanding of manufacturing and assembly procedures at a systems level, and considers electrical controls, reliability, and maintenance requirements.
  • Proficient in common office software programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Able to interpret customer and supplier technical documentation and specifications.
