CDL Personnel are recruiting for a HGV Mechanic in Southend-On-Sea

Job description:

  • Servicing a fleet of trucks and trailers on a weekly basis is the main objective.
  • You would also be dealing with: MOT preparation, defects, punctures, tyre changes, tyre cutting, welding, drilling, cutting and much more.
This job gives you the freedom to fine tune your skill set with our clients fully equipped garage.

There are three pits in the workshop as well as two flat work bays, welding equipment, vehicle diagnostics equipment (TEXA), drills, cutting torches, grinders,tyre store, parts store and much more.

With these facilities, a friendly atmosphere and a good team of staff in the transport office helping to co-ordinate the servicing and MOT bookings, This role presents a good opportunity for a mechanic seeking a long-term career.


Required skills:

  • Experience in a similar mechanical role
  • Strong organisational skills
  • The ability to work alone and manage your own time
  • Technical understanding
  • Good time keeping
  • Diagnostic experience (TEXA preferable)
  • Available Saturday mornings
  • Having your own hand tools

Preferred Skills:

  • Welding skills
  • HGV Class 1 licence
  • Computer Literate
  • Managerial/ Leadership skills
