Health & Safety Advisoron a
full time, permanent basis at our
Ealing Gateway in London.
In return, you will receive a competitive salary of
£36,500 per annum.


As our
Health & Safety Advisor,you will maintain up to date health and safety systems and records that facilitate the accurate reporting of key performance information and ensure that all policies and procedures are adhered to so that consistent and standard practice is achieved across the organisation.


What we're looking for in our Health & Safety Advisor:

Essential

  • Experience in Health and Safety or in a similar role
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office packages
  • Qualification in NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or Construction Health and Safety

Desirable

  • Experience in housing association or public sector
  • Working towards or willing to study NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent and chartered membership of the Institute of Safety and Health

What you can expect to be doing as our Health & Safety Advisor:

  • Developing and maintaining excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support safe employment and services
  • Assessing customers' needs to ensure effective service delivery
  • Advising and supporting customers in resolving their queries and issues, ensuring that their expectations are managed and proactive solutions are identified
  • Keeping up to date with current health and safety issues, new regulations and legislation
  • Providing proactive, timely, accurate and professional health and safety advice and guidance to customers and offering proactive solutions for their issues
  • Supporting managers and employees in completing operational risk assessments and carrying out specialist and organisational risk assessments as required
  • Assisting managers in identifying health and safety training needs and as appropriate facilitating the delivery of health and safety training directly or indirectly
  • Carrying out health and safety audits and safety inspections and supporting them in responding to recommendations
  • Investigating workplace accidents and incidents and reporting on findings and recommendations
  • Assisting in the development of health and safety policies and procedures and ensuring that they remain up to date and compliant with current legislation, regulations and industry best practise and embedded across the organisation
  • Working in partnership with the HR team to support the health and wellbeing of employees
  • Providing verbal or written health and safety briefings for managers and employees about current or newly arising issues
  • Managing the lone worker monitoring system
  • Attending and participating in internal and external health and safety group meetings
  • Adhering to Peabody Health and Safety policies and procedures to ensure, as far as is practicable, your own safety and that of others in the workplace. There may be a requirement to undertake specific Health and Safety roles such as Fire Warden or First Aider
