Peabodyhas an exciting opportunity for a
Facilities Assistant on either a
permanent basis or as flexible Bank Staff (zero hours contract) within our Health Living Centre in
South East London.


As a
Facilities Assistantyou will deliver a high standard of cleaning throughout the centre as well as providing support for room set up / set downs and assisting with the daily operations including reception cover, in accordance with Peabody policies and procedures and the principles of best practice.


What we're looking for in our Facilities Assistant:

  • Ability to prioritise and work on one's own initiative and with minimum of supervision
  • Ability to communicate sensitively with a wide range of people
  • Knowledge of COSHH and other relevant Health and Safety regulations
  • Experience and understanding of cleaning in a non-domestic environment
  • Customer service experience within a similar Centre environment

What you can expect to be doing as our Facilities Assistant:

  • To carry out tasks in accordance with the cleaning schedule, ensuring that both day to day duties and periodic cleaning are done timely and to an appropriate standard
  • To ensure the safe use of specialised heavy cleaning machinery ensuring all manufacturer's safety precautions and instructions are followed, and where necessary to ensure protective clothing is used
  • To ensure defects and health and safety issues are reported promptly and followed up appropriately
  • To ensure that all chemicals are correctly used in accordance with COSHH regulations and stored within designated areas
  • To complete the required arrangements for programmed activities and room hire bookings
