The Newham Community Integrated Mental Health Service has been established as part of the transformation of mental health services and supports closer working across all parts of the network, including specialist mental health services, GP practices, local authorities and voluntary sector partner agencies.
It consists of six Primary Care Networks aligned with GP Networks and focuses on meeting the needs of residents with mental health needs and complex emotional needs via assessment, targeted meaningful interventions and supporting them to engage with relevant local resources.

Provide a holistic therapeutic approach and resources to improve quality of life.

Education/ Qualification/ TrainingSocial Worker, Registered Mental Health Nurse or Occupational Therapist
Leadership training
Well-developed and suitable experience of working as a qualified RMN in adult community mental health services.
Experience of providing mentoring and supervision to junior staff and students on placement.
Suitable experience of working in a community mental health setting.
Experience of completing full psycho-social assessments and writing reports.
Experience of community building and exploring population health needs
Experience of providing clinical leadership/ management at band 6 level or above.
Experience of providing appraisal, supervision and support to junior staff
The current legislation relating to Mental Health provision
Current models of working with people with serious mental health problems including psycho-social and recovery approaches
Psychiatric problems and the social, psychological and political dimensions of mental ill-health
Current models of working with people with serious mental health problems including psycho-social and recovery approaches.
The major current issues in relevant health and social care.
To engage with adults with serious mental health problems in a holistic manner. To communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
