- Conduct a wide range of diagnostic tests in disciplines such as haematology, microbiology, clinical chemistry, immunology, and histopathology
- Analyse and interpret complex data, providing accurate and timely results to healthcare professionals for patient diagnosis and treatment
- Specimen reception management
- Record and manage test results using laboratory information management systems (LIMS)
- Temperature monitoring
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including infection control and hazardous materials handling
- Laboratory stock control and ordering
- Disposing of chemical and biological waste
- Answering telephone enquiries
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care
- Keeping and filing records
- Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Science, Medical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
- Must be HCPC registered
- PCR experience is preferred
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working in a clinical laboratory setting.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Good understanding of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
- Good data input skills
- At least two years experience in Blood Sciences
