Your new role:


Reporting to the HR Manager, you will provide professional and effective generalist HR service to all areas of the business including advising first line and senior management on all employee relations issues including attendance and performance management, disciplinary and grievance matters, and ensuring that support, advice and guidance is given consistently across the business, in line with Company Policies and Procedures and taking into account best practice and current UK Employment Legislation.


Duties and responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Working alongside managers to provide generalist HR support on guidance and best practice
  • Recruitment and selection of office and technical staff
  • Liaising with senior management to write and agree job descriptions and requirements, arranging interviews and coordinating offers of employment
  • Providing generalist advice and support relating to absence, sickness and performance management
  • Managing your own caseload
  • Ensuring accurate HR records are maintained
  • Supporting adhoc projects
  • Preparing payroll data for review by the HR Manager and working with the line managers to ensure accuracy with pay adjustments and absence
  • Supporting the HSE team to ensure staff are available to participate in the company safety program

Skills, experience and qualifications required:


  • Experience of working in a HR Advisor role
  • Level 5 CIPD (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong IT business systems
  • Experience of using HR systems
  • Strong employment law and employee relations knowledge
  • Confident when providing advice and guidance to managers and employees on a wide range of HR issues
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Excellent influencing skills
  • Experience of working in manufacturing or engineering
